AM Green looks to build 1 mtpa green ammonia plant at Indian port
In the UK, Gas World reported that AM Green will explore developing a one million-ton-per-year (mtpa) green hydrogen-based ammonia plant at V.O. Chidambaranar Port in Thoothukudi, southern India.
The developer signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the port authority covering ammonia production, handling, storage and refueling operations, aiming to connect the port with major demand in Europe and wider Asia, according to the report.
The facility would add to a $52.3m 3,000-ton, green hydrogen facility launched at the port in 2025, a 750-metre e-methanol bunkering and refuellng pilot project, and an ongoing 9MW wind power project.
