Egypt launches National Clean Hydrogen Program to boost green hydrogen investment
In India, SolarQuarter reported that Suez Canal Economic Zone, in partnership with United Nations Industrial Development Organization, has launched the National Clean Hydrogen Program–Egypt to accelerate the country’s transition toward a competitive green hydrogen economy.
The initiative aims to strengthen Egypt’s readiness to attract green hydrogen investments by supporting project development, policy frameworks, and institutional capacity-building, according to the report.
According to SCZONE, the program will focus on conducting pre-feasibility and feasibility studies for priority hydrogen projects, providing technical and policy support, and enhancing national capabilities to build a stronger clean hydrogen ecosystem.
A key component of the initiative includes the establishment of a Green Hydrogen Center of Excellence at the SCZONE headquarters in Ain Sokhna, aimed at advancing knowledge-sharing, technical expertise, and innovation in the hydrogen sector, according to the report.
