Egypt eyes sustainable aviation growth through green hydrogen, SAF initiatives
In Egypt, Daily News Egypt reported that Egypt is advancing efforts to develop a more sustainable aviation sector through investments in green hydrogen and SAF Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El Hefny said during the Egypt Green Hydrogen Forum 2026.

El Hefny also revealed that the civil aviation sector is studying plans to establish a new SAF production facility as part of wider efforts to localize low-emission aviation industries and support technology transfer, according to the report.
He added that Egypt’s strategic geographic location, infrastructure and renewable energy resources position the country to become a regional hub for green hydrogen and sustainable aviation fuel production.
