Corn planting is progressing and has reached 46.7% in Brazil

In Brazil Noticias Agricolas reported that activities in the second corn crop fields continue to advance across Brazil. According to Conab’s crop monitoring data, as of February 21, 46.7% of the second crop areas had already been sown.              

So far, Mato Grosso has sown 70.4% of the area, Tocantins 60%, Paraná 30%, Goiás 28%, Maranhão 27%, Piauí 25%, Minas Gerais 20.5%, and Mato Grosso do Sul 19%. Approximately 28% of the area is still in the emergence phase, and 72% has already progressed to vegetative development, according to the report.

At the same time, harvesting of the summer crop continues to advance, rising to 20.5% from the previous figure of 14.9% the report added.
