CNF selects JM, Honeywell tech for Workington e-fuels site

February 24, 2026 |

In the UK, SAF Investor reported that UK-based e-fuels developer Carbon Neutral Fuels (CNF) said it has finalized Johnson Matthey (JM) and bp’s FT CANS technology and Honeywell UOP’s Fischer-Tropsch Unicracking process technology for its power-to-liquid e-fuels facility in Workington, UK.

Once operational, the facility will have nameplate sustainable aviation fuel production capacity of up to 25,000 tons per year, according to the report.

The project, known as Project Starling, will convert captured CO2 and water into synthetic kerosene (FT-SPK), which, when blended with conventional jet fuel, will produce up to 25,000 tons of SAF annually.

Construction is planned to begin in 2028, with production targeted for 2031, the report added.
