CMIC proposes a waste-to-energy plant in Puebla
In Mexico, Mexico Now reported that the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC) in Puebla is planning a project to build a waste-to-energy plant for urban waste management, with plans to invest $542.8 million in the facility, which is expected to generate an average of up to 60 MW.
Raymundo del Valle Lafont, president of the organization, reported that the plant is expected to generate reliable power available 24 hours a day, adding that the electricity would be offered at competitive prices, according to the report.
He noted that the project involves a private investment that could be of interest to the state government, since “we would be turning a problem—waste—into investment, jobs, infrastructure, and energy for Puebla.”
