Brickbulk: LEGO unveils Ane Mærsk containership in 1,516 pieces

February 26, 2026 |

In Denmark, the LEGO Group said it will release the Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel, set 40955, a 1,516 piece collectible model of the Ane Mærsk designed for builders aged 12 and up and available from March 1.

The authentic model recreates what LEGO describes as the first low emissions dual-fuel container vessel, translating a full scale cargo ship into a display piece that measures more than 23.5 inches long, 7 inches high, and 4.5 inches wide on its stand. The set includes an opening bridge section with crew quarters, transparent engine room windows, slide-out gangways on both sides, individually buildable containers, and a display base with a nameplate. Printed elements and stickers are used to capture vessel markings and details.

LEGO positions the model as both a build and a collectible, aimed at teens and adults with an interest in ships and large scale engineering. A removable plate allows access to interior spaces, reinforcing the set’s focus on structural realism rather than simple exterior form.
