Brazilian soybean exports grow with new buyers, StoneX says
In Brazil, StoneX reported that Brazil exported 48.3 million tons of soybeans to China in the first half of 2026, a volume close to that recorded in the same period of the previous year.
China accounted for 69% of Brazilian soybean exports in the first half of 2026, down from 75% a year earlier, according to the report.
Brazil’s total soybean exports grew by more than 8%, even with a reduction in Chinese participation, said StoneX,
If China increases its purchases of US soybeans, Brazil is likely to compete for markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, rather than lose sales. This is because buyers traditionally supplied by the United States may seek Brazilian soybeans in the face of increased Chinese demand for US grains. As a result, buyers in these regions may find a larger supply of Brazilian soybeans, altering global trade flows without reducing the volume shipped by Brazil, the consultancy firm added.
