Balrampur Chini Mills secures $54M for lactogypsum processing and PLA projects

In India, Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd has raised Rs 450 crore (US$54.2 million) equity fund mainly to set up a lactogypsum processing plant and also meet capex needs for the polylactic acid bioplastic facility it is currently constructing in Uttar Pradesh.

Balrampur Chini, which  has ten sugar factories in UP with an aggregate sugarcane crushing capacity of 80,000 metric tons per day, has diversified into bioplastics. The PLA plant under construction at Kumbhi will have a total annual capacity of 80,000 metric tons per year.
