Argentine producers already harvested 11.6 million tons of soybean
In Argentina, Bichos de Campo reported that the Argentine soybean harvest has already covered 18.3% of the national area to generate an supply of 11.6 million tons out of a total projected of 48.6 million.
“While harvesting efforts are gaining momentum and are almost four points ahead of the previous season, they are still eleven points behind the average of the last five seasons,” notes the weekly report from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange.
As for the first soybean crop, the harvest is progressing smoothly over the core Pampas region with yields averaging 39.6 qq/ha in the northern part of the region and 40.5 qq/ha in the south, values higher than historical averages, according to the report.
Regarding corn, the harvest has reached 28% of the suitable area, with an average yield of 86.8 quintals per hectare nationwide.
