Argentine corn production to reach 62 million tons, exchange says
In Argentina, RuralNet reported that the Rosario Board of Trade said that Argentina’s national corn production is expected to reach 62 million tons, representing a 24.1% year-on-year increase and 18.2% above the previous record.
This rebound is attributed to two key factors: the recovery of the planted area—which has reached 9.8 million hectares—and improved yields, driven by favorable rainfall throughout much of the growing season, according to the report.
The report said that the Central region of the country concentrates the largest production volume. With 6 million hectares planted and yields of 84.1 quintals/hectare, it would reach a record production of 41.6 million tons.
Adding production and beginning stocks, the total corn supply in Argentina would reach 68.8 million tons, the report added.
