ANP greenlights 3tentos corn-based ethanol plant in Porto Alegre do Norte

In Brazil, Forbes reports has officially started the operation of its first corn ethanol plant in Porto Alegre do Norte, in the Araguaia Valley (MT), after obtaining the authorization of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). The new facility, according to 3tentos, will process 2,800 metric tons of corn per day. The unit will have a production capacity of 1,275 m3/d of hydrated ethanol and 1,215 m3/d of anhydrous ethanol, in addition to 785 tons per day of DDGS — dry grains of distillery, co-product of corn ethanol used in animal feed — and 50 tons of corn oil daily. The plant is also fit for processing sorghum in composition with corn.
