Anec slightly increases its forecast for Brazilian soybean exports in May.
In Brazil, Compre Rural reported that Brazilian soybean exports were estimated on May 19 at around 16.1 million tons, slightly above the 16 million tons estimated the previous week, according to a survey by the National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec) based on shipments and ship schedules.
With the improved estimate, soybean exports from the world’s largest producer and exporter would be close to the record 16.2 million tons registered in April, according to data from Anec.
Meanwhile, Brazilian soybean meal exports are projected at a record 2.78 million tons in May, versus 2.88 million in the previous week’s projection and 2.12 million in May of the previous year.
