Agroconsult raises forecast for Brazil’s soybean harvest
In Brazil, Noticias Agricolas reported that Brazilian soybean production for 2025/26 was estimated at a record 184.7 million tons, a 6.7% increase compared to the previous cycle, with productivity gains being a more important factor than the growth in planted area, according to Agroconsult.
The consultancy also raised its forecast for the harvest of the world’s largest producer and exporter of the oilseed by 0.9% compared to the forecast from the beginning of March.
The country’s new crop figure reflects adjustments in both productivity and planted area, which rose to a record high of 49.1 million hectares, compared to 48.8 million in the previous forecast (+0.6%). Compared to last season, the growth was 1 million hectares, or 2.08%, according to Agroconsult.
