AGR Biogás and TURN2X to develop green hydrogen-based methanization
The agreement establishes a long-term collaboration and contemplates the supply of biogenic CO2, generated in biomethane plants of AGR Biogás, to the facilities of TURN2X to generate e-methane, while in the reverse direction from TURN2X will be supplied renewable heat for the activity of AGR Biogás.
The agreement will be deployed at its start at two plants located in Andalusia and Extremadura, where the TURN2X facilities will be located adjacent to those of biomethane of AGR Biogás to allow that integration of their projects in order to produce green gas.
This collaboration will use biogenic CO2 from the improvement of biomethane in AGR Biogás plants and will promote the integration of renewable heat in both facilities. This configuration maximizes the use of CO2, increases overall energy efficiency and reduces the carbon footprint in both plants.
The waste heat generated in the TURN2X methanization process will be able to replace the heat source that AGR Biogas would have used to meet its thermal needs, thus reducing operating costs (OPEX). The collaboration will also explore the possibility of sharing the gas network connection infrastructure, distributing between the two projects the capital costs (CAPEX) associated with the injection point.
