Argentine producers already harvested 11.6 million tons of soybean, exchange says
In Argentina, Bichos de Campo reported that the Argentine soybean harvest has already covered 18.3% of the national area to generate an supply of 11.6 million tons out of a total projected of 48.6 million.
“While harvesting efforts are gaining momentum and are almost four points ahead of the previous season, they are still eleven points behind the average of the last five seasons,” noted the weekly report from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange.
Regarding corn, the harvest has reached 28% of the area, with an average yield of 86.8 quintals per hectare nationwide. With the improving weather, producers continue to prioritize the early soybean harvest, which is limiting the pace of corn harvesting.
“Crop conditions remain favorable, with 97.8% of the standing area ranging from normal to excellent. Given this scenario, we maintain our production forecast at 61.0 million tons,” the report states.
