Angling for beauty: IntegriCulture, ImpacFat to codevelop cosmetic ingredients from cultivated fish fat

October 5, 2026 |

In Japan, cellular agriculture company IntegriCulture and Singapore-based alternative fat producer ImpacFat have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop and commercialize cosmetics made with cultivated fish fat.

The partnership will combine ImpacFat’s cell-culture platform with IntegriCulture’s product development and cosmetics manufacturing expertise, according to Green Queen. The companies will initially target Japan and Singapore before pursuing opportunities across the wider Asia-Pacific market.

ImpacFat manufactures omega-3-rich fat by cultivating cells isolated from fish species such as eel and pangasius in controlled bioreactors. The company currently operates five-liter bioreactors and is working toward capacities of 10 to 50 liters. IntegriCulture, meanwhile, develops cellular agriculture technologies and cosmetic ingredients, including its Cellament cell-cultured serum.
