Lenzing, Woolchemy combine wool and wood for better hygiene products
Combining Lenzing’s fibers with Woolchemy’s wool-based nonwovens addresses a key performance challenge in disposable hygiene products: rapidly moving liquid away from the skin while maintaining dryness. The ADL rapidly captures and distributes liquid away from the surface, making efficient moisture management and dryness critical to product performance in products such as diapers and feminine hygiene products.
The collaboration comes as Woolchemy advances its wool-based hygiene technology toward commercial-scale production. In May 2026, it signed an agreement with spunlace specialist BCNonwovens to scale up production and develop product formats for wipes, baby care, feminine hygiene and incontinence applications.
