JBS successfully runs truck on B100 for 500,000km without problems

August 24, 2026 |

In Brazil, JBS, through TRS and Biopower advanced testing with trucks supplied with biodiesel 100% (B100) as a direct substitute for diesel and reaches an unprecedented milestone in Brazilian transport: the first truck, without adaptations, fueled exclusively with the biofuel completed more than 500,000 kilometers.

In operation for three years, the truck carries out daily the journey between Lins, in the interior of São Paulo, where is a Friboi unit, and the Port of Santos, transporting cargoes for export, such as frozen and cold food. The vehicle is tested with a container trailer, on a mountain range, with steep climbs and descents. The model maintains high efficiency and stability, without registering engine failures or component wear.

Other vehicles in the TRS fleet, recently acquired for the project, use exclusively the B100, either in the transport of containers or in the operation of live cattle, expanding the application of the fuel on different logistics fronts.

The tests also reinforce the synergy between JBS’s operations. TRS is responsible for logistics, while Biopower, one of Brazil’s largest biodiesel producers, supplies the fuel. The cargoes carried are from Friboi. The B100 is produced from waste from the processing of cattle and used cooking oil, evidencing the company’s circular economy strategy and the integral use of resources.

Throughout the tests, the biofuel demonstrated compatibility with the vehicles used and good mechanical performance, without the need for corrective maintenance in the engine.
