Indonesia advances first clustered biomethane-to-grid project
In Malaysia, the Star newspaper reports reNIKOLA Holdings and Pertagas Niaga have signed a long-term agreement to sell compressed biomethane gas produced from eight palm oil mills in Indonesia. The project is intended to establish the country’s first biomethane-to-gas-grid ecosystem and the largest clustered biomethane development, aggregating renewable gas from multiple mills. The project is expected to produce more than 830,000 MMBtu annually and involve approximately $40 million in investment. The agreement provides a commercial foundation for developing a supply network that can capture value from palm oil mill waste.
