Philippines’ Victorias Milling proposes bioethanol expansion

August 20, 2026 |

In the Philippines, the Negros Now Daily newspaper reports Victorias Milling Company plans to expand its bioethanol facility, increasing annual production capacity to about 65,520 metric tons from 49,140 metric tons. The proposed $3.4 million project, based on an indicative cost of 200 million Philippine pesos, is driven by growing domestic fuel-ethanol demand, which the company estimates at about 840 million liters annually. Local production is only around 390 million liters, leaving a substantial supply gap that is largely filled through imports. VMC says expansion would increase domestic supply while reducing exposure to international disruptions and price volatility.
