Dyadic unveils new industrial enzyme program
In Florida, biotechnology company Dyadic International has expanded its bio-industrial pipeline with a new proprietary enzyme program focused on advanced cellulose processing. The initiative builds on the commercialization of EN3ZYME™, Dyadic’s first proprietary bio-industrial enzyme product developed in collaboration with Fermbox Bio.
The new program leverages Dyadic’s Dapibus™ microbial expression platform to develop enzymes for applications including pulp biorefining, microcrystalline cellulose, and nanocellulose production. Dyadic said its single-strain production approach could help simplify manufacturing, accelerate development timelines, and improve scalability compared with traditional multi-strain systems.
The global industrial enzyme market is seeing increased demand as manufacturers look for more sustainable alternatives to conventional chemical processes. Dyadic’s cellulose-focused applications target established markets such as pulp and paper while also creating opportunities in renewable biofuels, biobased chemicals, biomaterials, and specialty cellulose derivatives.
“We see this program as a key step in expanding our bio-industrial portfolio,” said Joe Hazelton, president and chief operating officer of Dyadic Applied BioSolutions.
