In China, Platts reports Zhejiang Blue Whale Bioenergy has been added to the country’s sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) export whitelist, becoming the sixth Chinese producer authorized to ship SAF overseas. The approval clears the way for the company’s first export cargo of about 10,000 metric tons at the end of July after previous delays. Sources said Blue Whale received an annual SAF export quota of roughly 305,000 metric tons. With the addition of Blue Whale, China’s six approved SAF exporters now have a combined export capacity of about 1.7 million metric tons per year.
