Western Dubuque Biodiesel mothballs until RFS decision made
In Iowa, the Western Dubuque Biodiesel plant has been mothballed until the RFS sets the blending quota for biodiesel. The plant ran at 50% production capacity in 2015, adding 25 cents per gallon to operating costs, which was still below the 57% capacity the 30 million gallon per year plant ran at last year. Dozens of biodiesel producers across the state have mothballed or laid off workers recently.
