Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand shortlist partners for aviation biofuel
In Australia, Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand have narrowed down the list of 30 companies who sent in proposals to team up with the airlines on commercial aviation biofuel production to a shortlist with whom they are working to develop feasibility studies for as many as five facilities for a total investment of around A$1 billion. The companies have promised to source 5% of their annual fuel consumption from the plants, about 200 million liters.
