Vilnius starts building a green hydrogen plant

In Lithuania, CEEnergy News reported that construction has officially begun on a $11.6 million green hydrogen plant in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The Lithuanian Ministry of Energy stated that the project is being implemented by the Vilnius’ Miesto gijos company together with the Lithuanian general contractor MT Group.

The plant’s planned capacity is 3 megawatt. It is planned to produce 1.4-3.45 million cubic meters of hydrogen per year. The facility is scheduled to begin operations at the end of 2026. Initially, the green hydrogen produced there will be dedicated to the capital’s public transport, providing fuel for hydrogen-powered buses, according to the report.
