Vibra CEO calls for clear rules and public debates to solidify ethanol’s future

In Brazil, Novacana reports the CEO of Vibra recently said that the company believes in the potential of ethanol as a product to support the journey of the energy transition, but advocated clear regulations, the result of public debates, and predictable agendas regarding changes in the mix.

The government has been advocating the change in the mandatory mix of anhydrous ethanol in gasoline as a way to increase the consumption of biofuels. The National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) had a meeting scheduled for last Wednesday to approve the increase of the ethanol blend in gasoline from 30% to 32%, but the meeting was canceled.
