USDA launches strategy to expand U.S. biofuel exports

September 16, 2026 |

In Washington, Brownfield Ag News reports Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins has unveiled the American Biofuels Trade Outlook, a four-pillar strategy aimed at expanding U.S. ethanol and other biofuel markets overseas. USDA plans to target Latin America and Southeast Asia for new E10 markets while addressing barriers in countries already allowing E10. The department also intends to challenge foreign restrictions on U.S. crop-based biofuels and promote their use in road transport, aviation and marine fuels. USDA will use Market Access Programs and the America First Trade Promotion program to develop new markets and pursue fairer treatment for U.S. biofuels.
