US ethanol production drops to 15.73B gallon rate, stocks drop
In Washington, according to EIA data, as analyzed by the Renewable Fuels Association, US ethanol production averaged 986,000 barrels per day (b/d)—or 41.4 million gallons daily. That is down 32,000 b/d and the first time in 24 weeks that production dipped below 1 million b/d. As a result, the four-week average for ethanol production dropped to 1.03 million b/d for an annualized rate of 15.73 billion gallons. Stocks of ethanol fell to 22.9 million barrels, down 3.4% from last week’s record high. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 10.63%—the lowest level in 26 weeks.
