Ukraine nears completion of early grain harvest

In Ukraine, Ukrinform reported that Ukrainian farmers have harvested 58% of the projected area of early grains, with wheat accounting for the largest share at 24.6 million tons.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food stated:  “As of 25 August, farmers across all regions have harvested 6.76 million hectares, or 58% of the forecast area. The total gross harvest amounts to 31.73 million tons of new‑crop grain at an average yield of 47 centners per hectare.” 

Wheat harvest totals 24.61 million tons from 5 million hectares (97% of the area) at an average yield of 49.2 centners per hectare, according to the report.

The largest volumes of early grains and pulses were collected in Odesa, Kirovohrad and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
