Ukraine aligning fuel quality standards with RED II and RED III
In the Ukraine, the Odessa Journal reports the country is aligning its fuel quality standards with the European Union’s RED II and RED III regulations, both for biofuel blending as well as improving its fuel quality control system. EURO-3 and EURO-4 will be phased out while EN 228 and EN 590 will be implemented. Rules are being developed for higher ethanol blends as well, between 10% to 50%. The Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Ministry will work with laboratories and regulatory bodies to develop and implement the new standards.
