Thailand’s Bangchak launches ‘Fry to Fly’ scheme to turn used oil into fuel
In India, BioEnergy Times reported that Thai firm Bangchak Corporation has introduced a program that allows consumers to exchange used cooking oil for transport fuel, while promoting waste-to-energy solutions.
The campaign, titled “Fry to Fly – 2 liters for 1 liter,” is being conducted from April 6 to 30 across select service stations in Bangkok and nearby provinces, according to the report.
Under the initiative, individuals can bring in two liters of used cooking oil and receive one liter of regular-grade diesel or gasohol in return.
The company said the program is an extension of its efforts to convert used cooking oil into sustainable aviation fuel, while also delivering immediate benefits to consumers by lowering everyday fuel expenses, according to the report.
