Thai biodiesel producers worried about further mothballing as two new plants come online
In Thailand, two new biodiesel plants are set to come online, bringing national daily production to 8.5 million liters, but the additional supplies concern existing producers that a glut will be created will no market to absorb it. The new producers are expected to consume their entire production. Domestic demand runs at a maximum of 3.5 million liters per day, leaving the rest for the export market. Prices are running at 61 cents per liter despite only 50% of installed production capacity currently operating nationally.
