In the UK, SAF investor reported that Houston-based Syzygy Plasmonics said it has signed agreements with Geo bio gas&carbon, NorthStar Renewable Fuels, Islonias (Biothek) and another producer to develop sustainable aviation fuel projects in Brazil, US, Dominican Republic, Spain, Italy, France, Colombia, Chile and Mexico.

“This partnership with Geo, alongside our growing project pipeline across the world, demonstrates that we are laying the groundwork toward becoming a major supplier in the SAF industry,” said Trevor Best, CEO of Syzygy Plasmonics.

“The aviation industry’s path to net-zero depends on our ability to transform diverse, often overlooked feedstocks into high-value fuel at an industrial scale. By partnering with Geo, Islonias, and Northstar, we are demonstrating to the aviation industry that wasted biogas is an abundant, under-utilised resource that can reshape global SAF production.”

The report noted that company said that its MoU with Brazil’s sugarcane and ethanol waste to biogas developer and operator Geo bio gas&carbon will help the company develop commercial-scale SAF projects in Brazil.
