Sunfire in line for up to 300MW of Finnish electrolyzer supply under Ren-Gas deal
In the UK, Gas World reported that Sunfire has been named preferred electrolyzer supplier by Finland’s Ren-Gas for its green hydrogen and e-methane projects, positioning the German manufacturer to supply a further 300MW of electrolyzers across the developer’s wider project pipeline.
The announcement comes shortly after Ren-Gas signed a $1.14 billion offtake agreement for green hydrogen-based e-methane with Swiss LNG operator Avanca Energy, according to the report.
The long-term partnership agreement builds on the companies’ work on Ren-Gas’ e-methane plant in Tampere, Finland, where 50MW of Sunfire’s electrolyzers are being installed, it added.
In addition to the Tampere project, Ren-Gas has plans to build four other e-methane plants across Finland, which together could require around 300MW of additional electrolyzers.
