Spanish government launches public consultation on proposed biomethane law
In Spain, the government has opened a public consultation until June 11 regarding a draft Royal Decree on the Promotion of Biomethane which establishes, for the first time, a quota system for biomethane that aims to guarantee a certain amount of this renewable gas in the total volume of natural gas and liquefied natural gas supplied or consumed, the subjects obliged to comply with it, as well as the forecasts for its supervision and control. The one with guarantees of origin of renewable biomethane gases shall be considered accredited.
