Skyrenu Technologies delivers first batch of efuels and echemicals based on University of Sherbrooke tech
In Canada, Skyrenu Technologies Inc., a company specializing in CO2 capture2 at low concentration, announces the delivery of a first batch of CO2 captured directly from the air at Secant Fuel, a company developing technologies for the production of synthetic fuels (eFuels) and low-carbon chemicals (eChemicals). This first delivery marks a significant milestone in demonstrating the potential of linking direct air capture to technologies that convert carbon into low-carbon fuels.
Developed as part of a technology showcase bringing together two Sherbrooke companies originating from research at the University of Sherbrooke, this collaboration combines Skyrenu’s modular and low-energy technology to capture CO22 directly into the air using Secant Fuel’s carbon conversion technology. The showcase highlights the potential of CO₂2 captured as a raw material for technologies that convert carbon into fuels and low-carbon chemicals. This technology showcase benefited from financial support from Sherbrooke Innovante, through its Business Assistance Program for the Industrial and Technological Sectors, Technology Showcase component.
