Singapore delays SAF levy for air cargo
In Singapore, Channel New Asia reports Singapore will proceed with its sustainable aviation fuel levy for passengers, general aviation and business aviation, but delay the levy for air cargo by one year. Passengers buying tickets from October 1, 2026, for flights departing from January 1, 2027, will pay the levy as a separate fare item. Cargo services will instead face the levy for services sold from October 1, 2027, for flights departing from January 1, 2028. The Civil Aviation Authority said the delay will provide more time to develop a workable collection system for the complex cargo sector.
