Shell secures long-term supply deal for green fuel project at Nador West Med
In Morocco, Morocco World News reported that Shell has signed a long-term agreement with Green Sky Manara LLC to purchase renewable fuels from a planned production facility at Morocco’s Nador West Med port.
Under the agreement, Shell Trading Rotterdam B.V., a subsidiary of Shell, will hold exclusive purchasing rights to approximately 150,000 tons annually of sustainable aviation fuel or an equivalent volume of hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO). The agreement also covers bionaphtha and biopropane.
The facility, which Green Sky Capital is developing through Green Sky Manara, is scheduled to begin operations in October 2028, according to Shell’s announcement on November 2.
The agreement adds Morocco to Shell’s growing portfolio of sustainable aviation fuel supply arrangements, which also includes projects in Pakistan, Malaysia, Thailand, and the United States. Shell currently supplies SAF at more than 80 airports across 18 countries, according to the report.
