In Argentina, el Diario de Tandil reported that a delegation from the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation verified the production quality system carried out by the National Service for Agrifood Health and Quality (Senasa), with the aim of reviving the market for soybeans and their derivative products in Argentina.

“Officials from the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance visited the soybean complex and learned about the industrialization of Argentine soybeans in order to reactivate the market for the export of the product and its derivatives, such as soybean meal or soybeans, to that destination,” explained Andrés Maggi of the National Directorate of Food Safety and Quality of Senasa.

The Senasa official also stated that “they verified the state controls carried out by the Agency to ensure and comply with both the quality and safety of the products, as well as the required destination regulations.”

The report noted that the delegation visited the port terminal and processing plants and inspected the loading and unloading system for soybean byproducts and grains in Rosario, Santa Fe.
