Q8 Aviation signs e-SAF dupply deal with Verso Energy’s DEZiR project in Normandy
In the UK, Fuel Cells Works reported that Verso Energy and Q8 Aviation have signed a strategic cooperation agreement for long-term supply of e-SAF from Verso’s DEZiR project in Rouen, Normandy.
The report noted that this project in France is a planned 80,000-tonne-per-year e-SAF facility targeting operations from 2030 that Q8 Aviation intends to use to meet its RefuelEU Aviation obligations.
Q8 Aviation, part of Kuwait Petroleum International, says the agreement would help supply its European operations as the EU’s synthetic aviation fuel requirement begins in 2030, according to the report.
At full capacity, the facility is designed to produce 80,000 tonnes of e-SAF per year. The CO2 will be captured from nearby industries using Technip Energies’ Canopy carbon capture system, it added.
