PTT teams with academia and private sector to improve biofuel catalysts

In Thailand, PTT has teamed with the Thai Research Fund, Chulalongkorn University, SCG Chemicals, IRPC, Global Green Chemical, and TPK Ethanol in a project that seeks to improve production efficiency, extend lifespan, and reduce costs for importing catalysts and absorbents in biodiesel and ethanol industries. The CAT-REAC Industrial Project is set to cost $2.1 million in its first year but lead to technologies that will reduce costs for domestic industries by more than $3 million per year.
