Port of Helsingborg adds emergency energy surcharge to HVO
In Sweden, the Port of Helsingborg has seen a dramatic surge in the price of HVO biofuel in recent weeks and therefore finds it necessary to introduce an Emergency Energy Surcharge to secure its level of service and maintain efficient operations. The surcharge will take effect from April 1st, 2026, and will remain in place for as long as energy costs remain elevated.
It has chosen to implement a variable Emergency Energy Surcharge, applicable to all units moved over quay (loaded or discharged from vessel). The surcharge will be adjusted monthly according to the price of the specific HVO product we consume in the business.
