Polish municipality seeks contractor for hydrogen energy storage plant
In Bulgaria, Renewables Now reported that Poland’s municipality of Odolanow has announced a tender for the construction of a 3-MWh hydrogen energy storage facility supported by EU funding of $8 million.
The main module of the system will consist of a PEM electrolyzer, a gas compression and storage system and a fuel cell. It will produce hydrogen from surplus renewable electricity generated by systems, which the municipality intends to install on its public buildings by June next year as part of the KPO project.
The pilot project will enable the local government to assess the effectiveness of hydrogen technologies in the municipal network, according to the report.
