PetroChina blends more than 30,000 tons of marine biofuel
In China, the Manifold Times reports PetroChina International has blended more than 30,000 metric tons of marine biofuel since completing China’s first marine-biofuel blending operation in March. The company is conducting the work at its Aoshan base in the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone, using its storage and logistics infrastructure. Its latest product, B24 marine fuel containing 24% biofuel, is designed to meet applicable IMO requirements and marine-fuel standards and can be supplied to vessels on international routes. PetroChina says the operation will help establish Zhoushan as a major bonded marine-fuel bunkering hub while supporting its lower-carbon energy strategy.
