Pemex weighs investment in biorefinery to produce SAF and biogas
In India, BioEnergy Times reported that Mexico’s state-owned oil company Pemex is exploring the possibility of investing in a biorefinery that would produce biogas and sustainable aviation fuel.
Environment Minister Alicia Bárcena Ibarra said that Pemex would partner with a Spanish company for the project, which is planned as part of a proposed circular economy complex in the central state of Hidalgo.
She added that state-owned power company CFE has shown interest in taking the biogas generated from the new facility and injecting it into its natural gas pipelines, according to the report.
