Oman launches tender for 1 GW hydrogen-fired power plant study
In Bulgaria, Renewables Now reported that Oman has launched a tender for consultancy services to assess a large-scale power project fuelled by green hydrogen.
Nama Power and Water Procurement (PWP), the Sultanate’s sole buyer of electricity, has issued a request for proposals for a techno-economic advisor. The selected consultant will carry out an initial assessment for a new independent power plant designed to run on up to 100% hydrogen, with an expected capacity of 800 – 1,000 MW, according to the report.
The tender is open for purchase between May 4 and May 31, with documents available electronically through the PWP website. The deadline for submitting applications is June 21, the report added.
