In Germany, outdoor brand Doghammer has claimed the world’s first 100% vegan mountain bike shoe. Dubbed Bike Graveler, the shoe includes alternative leather, canvas, and cork. The sole is made of recycled rubber, and vegan glue is used throughout. The cork insole is removable for quick drying after a particularly sweaty or muddy session.

The Bike Graveler is available in clipless format for €159.90 (US$166.65) at doghammer.de.

A flat pedal option will be available in June for at €139.90 (US$145.79).

Superstore  notes that vegan mountain biking shoes are still rare because many use suede as their main material.
