In South Tyrol, Italy, High Society Studio has unveiled a line of plant-based lighting. The design brand showcased the lamps—made from tobacco, hemp and beer brewing waste—at the recent London Design Fair.

The company tells Vegconomist it is exploring new materials and “aims to underline the importance of evaluating waste as a primary resource.”

The Highlight line uses byproducts from hemp tobacco and wine-making to create three colors, while the Senilia lamps offer “one of a kind lampshades made from beer brewing wastes and coffee’s silver skin.”

The London Design Fair ran September 19-22.
