Meanwhile, Edinburgh College of Art’s Aurelie Fontan displayed a biodegradable fabric from kombucha tea, while Russell Beard created a self-portrait using skin oil instead of paint and Bavarian limestone as a canvas.
The Edinburgh Science Festival runs through April 22.
